Next Move NYC shows how busy bars and clubs are right now, based on short reports from people who are there. This page explains what we collect and what we do with it, in plain language.
What we collect
- Your email address and password, to create and sign in to your account. Passwords are stored hashed; we never see them.
- Your reports: the crowd level, line, cover, vibe rating and price level you submit for a venue, with the time.
- Your location, only at the moment you submit a report, to confirm you are at the venue. We store the venue, not your coordinates. While the map is open, your position is used on your phone to sort bars by distance and is not sent to us.
- Favorites, claimed deals and venue page views, so the app works and so partner venues can see anonymous counts.
What other people see
Other users and partner venues only ever see aggregates: “12 reports tonight”, an average vibe, a count of app users at a venue. Nobody sees who reported, who favorited, or who viewed a page.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not track your location in the background.
- We do not show ads or share your data with advertisers.
Where it lives
Data is stored with Supabase on servers in the United States. Bar listings come from OpenStreetMap contributors and the New York State Liquor Authority’s public license records.
Deleting your account
Open the Profile tab in the app and tap Delete account. Your account, reports, favorites and claimed deals are removed immediately and permanently.
Age
Next Move NYC is intended for people 21 and older.
